You probably know that people have five senses. Well, some research shows that actually we have six senses, which is a whole other story to begin with.

What I have realized for me is that the most important sense, the one that triggers me most is the smell. I forget sounds, places, names or textures. But my memory never fails to remember a smell.

I love to smell food before I eat it, the same happens with drinks as well. If I have never tasted a drink before, I always like to smell it before I consume it.

Smell plays a really important part in my relationship to other people. In fact in me liking people. I love a nice cologne, or the freshness of someone that has just showered. Is that weird? I still remember the affection I had with my husband's Bulgari cologne when we first started dating. When someone smells good, I love it. And I always have imprinted in my mind, the joy of the moment.

Then of course it applies to spaces. I fall for places that have a distinct original smell. I love candles and diffusers and all things that make a place original in this kind of way.

From interior design perspective, the best scented candles are decorative accents instantly add character and ambience to your space.

Like colonnes you can find something  to complement every mood, setup, and scent preference.

In order for you to not get dizzy, since I put my nose to the test  many often, from warm and cozy, bright and floral, to clean and refreshing here are my three favorite candles for the season that I am obsessed with.

Citronnelle (Lemongrass) Extra-Large Candle by Diptyque celebrates summer reminding me the late evenings staying awake as a child in our summer house in Greece. Its dreamy design by French artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet travels you in Mediterranian shores and gives a vibrant accent to any coffee table setting.

Fruity Honeycrisp Oakwood Glass Jar Candle By Anthropologie has an aromatic fruit scent with notes of white amber and oakwood which make it extra cozy and yummy in a way.

Last but not least, Large Hortensia Scented Candle by DIOR with it's iconic Toile de Jouy motif design, offers you an irresistible and unforgetable trail of hydrangea. With musk accords and neroli and geranium notes, this candle is a staple in my everyday choices.

Which is the most important sense for you? Have you ever wondered?

Also if you are obsessed with a specific candle I would love to know that, too.

Wink, wink
