The application of color in a home can be playful and intuitive. Color and pattern choices have always been one of the best ways to showcase your design style and bring life into your space after all.
It is important to create a palette with care and attention always enriched by refined materials.
Bold paint effects usually work best when confined to smaller spaces but don’t be fooled, they make a huge impact just through tone and depth of paint. Choosing the right hue is very important as its best to find a shade that can not only spark inspiration and good vibes, but also one that you can stand to stare at from dawn to dusk.
If you are looking feeling warm, soothing, and grounding all at one time then earth tones and pastels are your go to.

Blue-the world’s favorite color- is always a safe choice. Blue spectrum of light activates and awakens human brain, making this a perfect color for an office space or study room. We are loving Hague Blue by FARROW & BALL as this rich shade of blue, feels both optimistic and spiritual.
In case you feel like installing wallpaper then taking inspiration from nature is a good tip. Botanical patterns or landscapes are a big trend in both interior design and fashion world, having always in mind the beloved Dior Jardin Botanique patterns. La Maison Muraem has an amazing collection of landscape wallpapers.
On the other hand, if the thought of introducing vibrant tones or patterns of any kind feels like a giant leap and your home is mainly minimalistic, start with soft furnishings that can easily be swapped out if you change your mind. Flashes of colors such as lavender, green and indigo are perfect for your rugs, sheets or curtains.
They will create impact in a less obvious, more subtle way.
Upholstery is also another clever way to breathe new life into a much-loved piece of furniture.
“ If you dare to go a bit more extravagant, combine intense colors or layer up color & pattern. For example ruby red makes a perfect combination with indigo blue. Just make sure there aren’t too many clashing shades. "
For me personally adding an element of surprise and investing in key pieces in each space is my way to go. I personally love Le Bambole sofa by Mario Bellini x Stella Mccartey for B&B Italia which features a hand-drawn Fungi Forest print in red hues as red is truly a statement choice and when applied carefully it brings out a powerful energy.
I can assure you that there are endless possibilities.
Every color and pattern evokes different moods, so just think about the type of vibe you want to exude in your living space. And you can always opt for the best of both worlds, with a combination of vibrant and subdued hues.
Have in mind that comfortable spaces instantly become more inviting with the addition of color and pattern.
